The unit connects to your PC by USB. In SimHub (free software most racers already run) you bind any wheel button as your drink trigger. Press it in-race and the pump feeds a sip through the food-grade line. No custom apps, no drivers.
Yes — it uses a peristaltic pump, which means your drink only ever touches the food-grade silicone line, never the pump itself. The line is cheap and replaceable; swap it whenever you like.
